Ujjain: Hindu New Year (Navsamwatsar) ceremony to be held at Ramghat

Ujjain: A meeting was held on Monday to chalk out a programme for the 40th Navsamwat celebrations to be held at Ramghat. The meeting was presided over by Astrologer Pt Anand Shakar Vyas.

Pt Vyas said Navsamwat would begin on March 29 at 6.27 am and the Gudipadva festival would also be celebrated on the same day. A 101 ‘kalash’ procession will be held at 5am on March 29 to mark the beginning of the new Hindu year from Bade Ganesh Temple. After completion of rituals and Surya Namaskar, other cultural programmes and Kshipra Arti will be organised at Ramghat.

Programmes will be organised by Vyas-Sandipani Shri krishna Panchsahastrabdhi Mahotsav Samiti, Malav Vaidya Vidya Parishad, Kshipra Mahasabha, Grujargoud Brahman Samaj, Kshetriya Pnada Samiti and  Navvarsh Nav vichar Samiti jointly. Ramesh Dixit, Vinod Kabra, Kamlashakar Trivedi, BK Sharma, Pt Brujendra Shastri Naharwala, Panda, Pt Ajay Vyas, Dr Shrikrishna Joshi and other priests were present.
