Ujjain: Head ‘priest’ Narayan Swami flees Shani Shaktipeet to escape people’s wrath

Ujjain: Residents of colonies near Shani Shaktipeeth at Chintaman Ganesh marg, reacted violently to the arrival of self claimed saint, Narayan Swami at the ashram, on Sunday night. The priest who had disappeared a few days ago, following a video that went viral showing his illicit relations with several women, had tried to secretly enter the ashram.

Sensing that the priest might arrive at the ashram, people went violent and wreaked havoc on the ashram and manhandled its employees. Narayan Swami who is the head priest of Shani Shaktipeeth, managed to escape from the ashram, thus saving himself from the wrath of the people.

People also manhandled employees of the ashram. The injured employees, Rahul, Bhagirath, and Jitendra who were beaten up by the mob lodged a complaint at the Neelganga police station. Meanwhile, some cops were deployed at Shani Shaktipeeth following the incident. An FIR was lodged against Bhupendra, resident of Jaisingpura, Manish and some others under sections 147, 336 and 427 of the IPC.
