Ujjain: The general meeting of Ujjain zilla panchayat was held on Monday at Dvdeshwar Mahadev Temple at 2 pm. It was presided over by panchayat president Mahesh Parmar.
During the meeting, the district cooperative department highlighted ongoing projects being carried out for the welfare of farmers. It was decided that the department would provide interest free loans to the farmers and increase the loan limit from Rs 32,000 to Rs 42,000 per hectare.
Members also instructed the panchayat of every village to provide loan facilities to needy farmers. Strict instructions were given to provide potable water to the farmers from local resources. Members called for compulsory application for the Nal-Jal (Tap water) Yojana. Stadiums and sports training would also be provided for the boys and girls of villages, the meeting decided.
