Ujjain: Despite being in power both at Madhya Pradesh and at Centre, the BJP leaders are staging drama in the name of boycotting China-made products. Former Congress MP Premchand Guddu asked Government of India to immediately ban import of all sorts of Chinese products and cancel licences of companies, instrumental in manufacturing Chinese items.

Talking to reporters at a private hotel on Sunday afternoon, Guddu alleged that no significant step were taken during the first three years of the Narendra Modi government to encourage manufacturing and marketing of Indian-made products in the country itself. “On the eve of Independence Day, the BJP and its leaders want to reap political mileage in the name of protesting China-made items,” he added.

The former MP also said that common man was fed-up with the government following demonetisation and implementation of GST and would teach a befitting reply to the ruling dispensation in next assembly and parliament elections in 2018 and 2019 respectively. “Irrespective of certain shortcomings in our organisational affairs, Congress has challenged the BJP government. The agitation launched by party leaders after Mandsaur firing is a clear indication of our strength,” Guddu said.
