Ujjain: Police department organised a debate contest for the police personnel at police control room on Monday. The topic of the debate was ‘Human Rights are a must for Democracy’.
AJK SP Sundar Singh Kanesh detailed the various aspects of the contest and said such competitions were organised to develop the intelligence, awareness and expression skills of policemen. Prof Shailendra Parashar of Dr Ambedkar Peethin his address said “Debate is a strong medium of human expression. Each subject has its pros and cons.
One can develop his logical skills, topic presentation, language and impactful style of delivery through participation in debate. Human rights are necessary in a democracy as it makes the democracy strong”
District convener of Human Rights Commission Nalini Langar expressed her views on the topic and announced the results. The winners of district level will participate in the Ujjain Range level competition. Head constable Ramraj Mishra won the first prize while SI Avinash Rathore of Nagda police station and constable Manisha Chouhan of Police Line won second and third prizes respectively. DSP Surendra Pal Singh Rathore conducted the programme.
