Ujjain: Congress to take out protest rally against demonetisation today

Ujjain: Several opposition parties after a week of acrimony in Parliament, the opposition has planned countrywide protest and called for a bandh on Monday against the government’s ‘mishandling’ of the demonetisation move.  However, according to sources, the opposition front led by Mamata Banerjee and Arvind Kejriwal has failed to garner much support for the bandh, while Congress have conspicuously clarified that it has nothing to do with bandh in Madhya Pradesh.

However, District Congress Committee will organise an ‘Akrosh March’ on Monday to protest the demonetisation drive.

In this regard District Congress head, Anant Narayan Meena said that the rally would be taken out at 11 am from Congress Bhavan and travel through KshirSagarvia Nai Sadak, Daulatganj, Malipura to Tower Chowk. He further said that to throw light on the problems of middle class and poor people due to demonetisation is the motive of this march.

A preparatory meeting was also held on Sunday, in which the party leaders discussed issues so as to make the Monday’s event successful.
