Ujjain: City hotels, restaurants to join UMC’s cleanliness campaign

Ujjain: Hotels and restaurants in the city will actively cooperate with the cleanliness campaign launched by Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC) and ensure disposal of the waste and other rubbish.

Mayor Meena Jonwal with municipal speaker Sonu Gehlot and municipal commissioner Ashish Singh chaired a meeting of hotel and restaurants owners at the Simhastha Mela office on Tuesday. Directives were issued to maintain hygienic surroundings and dispose rubbishfrom commercial and other establishments.

They were asked to consult the UMC on technical aspects of the campaign. Health Committee in-charge, Satyanarayan Chouhan, additional commissioner Vishal Singh and others were present.


‘Clean Ujjain’ photography contest on Dec 10

Ujjain Municipal Corporation is hosting a photography contest ‘Clean Ujjain’ under the cleanliness campaign in a bid to position the city at the top spot in the cleanliness survey.Contestants can send their entries taken through cameras, tablets, smart phones, DSLR, SLR and other gadgets by December 10. Entries can be sent through email to [email protected] The winner will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 10, 000 while the first and second runner up will be awarded cash prizes of Rs 5000 and Rs 3000 respectively.
