Ujjain: Some bookies, who were conducting betting on cricket matches of Indian Premier League (IPL) on Monday night, were arrested by the police. According to information, bets were being taken in a house located in Fazalpura area. On being tipped off Kotwali police station staff was directed to conduct a raid by SP MS Verma. Kotwali police station staff nabbed two bookies from there. The police also seized television, fridge, computers and 14 mobile phones from the spot. According to police, a register was also found there in which amounts of betting were mentioned with details. According to police the two bookies, Idris and Rakesh, were arrested with Rs 2500 in cash. Kotwali TI Kulwant Joshi said that main accused Pravin alias Billu Rai was also arrested for conducting betting on IPL cricket matches.
