11-day ‘Hawanatmak Maharudra Yajna’ begins to reduce ill-effects of “Guru Chandal Yog”

Ujjain : 11-day ‘Hawanatmak Maharudra Yajna’ began amid chanting of Vedic hymns at the Mahakaleshwar Temple, here on Monday. It has been organised jointly by the Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee (MTMC) and Central Simhastha Fair Organising Committee (CSFOC) so as to ensure smooth and successful hosting of the mega international event—Simhastha Fair-2016—and also for the welfare of the people.

Though, Yajnas are organised before the Simhastha Fair and this practice is continuing since Simhastha Fair-1992, case of the ensuing Simhastha appears different as the dates of the month long fair are coinciding under the effect of “Guru Chandal Yog”. It is believed that various sorts of disturbances and obstructions are occurred on the planet because of planetary positions and that’s why Yajnas and anushthans are being organised here these days to diminish their ill-effects.

The significance of hosting the ‘Hawanatmak Maharudra Yajna’ can be gauged from the presence of the general secretary (sar karyawah) of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Suresh Joshi, who is popularly known as Bhaiyyaji Joshi. They then performed worship of the Mahakal Jyotirlingam and also participated in the Chandi Anushthan near the Juna Mahakal. About 108 Brahmins, including those from Indore, have been doing the Yajna between 11 am to 2 pm, under the guidance of Pt Ghan Shyam Sharma. Before leaving to Indore, the dignitaries also distributed ‘dakshina’ to the priests.
