Three new members notified for MTMC

Ujjain : Religious Trusts and Endowments Department of Madhya Pradesh has notified the names of 3 members to be inducted in the Mahakal Temple Management Committee (MTMC) for the next 3 years. The State government has issued a notification in this regard. Administrator in-charge of MTMC, Kshitij Sharma informed that one of the 3 members notified is Pt Pradeep Guru. The other two members from non-government background will be Vibhash Upadhyay and Jagdish Shukla. Guru and Upadhyay has worked in the same capacity, earlier.

Collector and SP take joint meeting ahead of Monday sawari

A review meeting in view of the Monday ‘sawari’ was held jointly by collector Sanket Bhondve and SP Sachin Atulkar on Saturday. Necessary instructions were given to police officers and magistrates to keep the arrangements and security tight. Strategies should be developed by drawing from shortcomings in arrangements from prior ‘sawaris’. All efforts should be made to avoid a stampede, as crowds were constantly increasing. All broken electric cables should be fixed and VIP entrances should be checked for infringement. Anti social elements must be kept in check and overall arrangement must ensure safety of devotees.

Meeting for Shahi sawari on Aug 17 and 18

President of MTMC, collector Sanket Bhondve will hold  meetings to chalk out security and general arrangements in view of the heavy turnout of devotees expected on the last and shahi sawari of Lord Mahakal on August 21. The meeting with MTMC members will be held at Mahakal Pravachan Hall on August 17 at 4:30 pm. The collector will hold a meeting with the city administrative body at the police control room on August 18 at 5 pm.
