Three cops beaten up by passengers on bus in Ujjain


Ujjain: Three policemen were beaten up by passengers traveling on a bus near Sodang village, Unhlel road.

The incident occurred when head constable Muneshwar Chand Dubey and two constables Ajay and Dilip, were escorting an accused Manjoor on the bus after producing him in a court at Nagda.

A fight broke out when passengers began quarreling over seats as the bus approached Sodang. Despite attempts to calm the situation, the passengers beat up the police with the help of friends who arrived on the scene with wooden sticks.

On the complaint of police personnel, Bhairavgarh police lodged an FIR against the miscreants under Section 341, 353, 332, 294, 506, 427 and 34 of the IPC. According to TI Rakesh Nain, Mukesh Bhami, Sandeep and Santosh Dilip and two others were identified as accused in this matter. Some of them were taken into custody by the police which have started an investigation.
