A day after the Lokayukta police gave a clean chit to former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa in connection with illegally awarding a contract in an irrigation work, the High Court on Tuesday dism
issed two of his petitions seeking dismissal of summons issued to him by a lower court in connection with alleged land scams.
Justice Anand Byrareddy dismissed the petitions in a case filed by advocate Sirajin Basha. It was Bashas private complaints that led the Lokayukta Court to issue summons against Yeddyurappa and 14 other accused.
The case dates back to August 8 last year when the Lokayukta court issued summons against Yeddyurappa on charges of illegally denotifying Bangalore Development Authority lands favouring his sons and family members.
