Ujjain: ‘One Stop Centre’ (OSC), an organisational body, was set up in the city to address grievances of the women who fall victim to several kinds of violence and harassment. Victimised women now will receive legal aid, shelter, medical facility as well as consultation from experts under asingle roof.
Member of Parliament Chintamani Malviya and MLA Mohan Yadav inaugurated the centre on Tuesday at Madhav Nagar hospital. Deputy director, Shubhangi Majumdar said, the centre would extend aid to women who are the victims of subjugation and atrocities in the society.
The state government has also initiated a project Usha Kiran, to protect women from domestic violence which has been named as OSC (Sakhi).
Malviya in his address said, the Union government has opened OSCs in 18 districts of the state. MLA Mohan Yadav in his address praised the initiative of the government. Woman empowerment officer, Siddiqui delivered welcome note.
