Ujjain : Farmers should change their mentality to earn profits from farming. They should make agriculture a business of profit. They should not afraid of using advance agriculture technology. Farmers should yield more harvest from less seeds.
This was told by Collector Kavindra Kiyawat at the training camp organised for prosperous farmers and cattle owners at village Gawdi of Tarana tehsil here on Saturday. Kiyawat urged farmers to adopt deep plough method for better harvest.
Seed should be used after their treatment and fertilizer and manure should be used as per the requirement of the soil. Farmers should care for the health of soil. They should know the requirement of nutrition for the earth. Seeds should be sown only after the testing of soil.
Farmers and cattle owners of Janpad Panchayat Tarana were present at the camp. Kiyawat advised farmers to utilize every inch land of their farm to produce better yield. MLA Anil Firozia and Zila Panchayat president Mahesh Parmar were present on this occasion.
Weekly Farmers’ workshop
Collector Kiyawat directed deputy director Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Department for starting Farmers’ Workshop at village Panchayats from next week. In his directives, he said the workshop should be held for two hours. Officers of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry departments should be present at the workshop for imparting information about advance technique of agriculture and animal husbandry.
Physical verification of availability of manure
Kiywat was informed about the problem of unavailability of manure, at the camp. Directives were issued to make physical verification of available manure and fertilizers at all societies of the district on Monday. Disciplinary action should be taken against officials and employees remain absent at the time of verification.
X-ray and sonography of soil is needed
Farmers are really agriculture scientists as they work practically, but they do not use scientific methods and equipment till today. They should get the soil tested. After the soil testing, they come to know about elements and nutrition present in it. This was told by agriculture scientist AK Dikshit to farmers at the camp.
