Huge stock of wheat arrivals in mandi after holidays

Ujjain  : Farmers have stacked the Krishi Upaj Mandi with 25,000 sacks of wheat after the ‘Rangpanchmi’ holiday. When bidding started early yesterday morning, mill quality wheat was sold at Rs 1550 per quintal.

The ‘Lokwan’ brand, standard quality, was sold between Rs 1600-1650 while superior quality ‘Lokwan’ was sold at a price of up to Rs 1800. Farmers also offered to sell their wheat produce at the government support price following which they got a price of Rs 1650 per quintal for non first quality wheat. The mandi will be open for the entire week beginning Monday.
