Fog, drizzling multiply denizens’ woe


Ujjain: Cold condition in city intensified following drizzling on Saturday morning. The city was already in the grip of severe cold and fog. The sudden drizzling on Saturday morning has brought the temperature down further. Mercury dipped to 10.5 degree Celsius on Friday night and day’s temperature was recorded at 18 degree Celsius. Bonfire was lit at city squares by people to some relief from the biting cold.

Bone- chilling wind at a speed of 6 km per hour was sweeping across the city on Saturday. There was no much traffic in city streets due to the biting cold. Thick fog enveloped the city on Saturday morning and schoolchildren were seen shivering at bus stops. The sun played hide and seek during the day.

Denizens of this temple town have their own way to combat with biting cold. Winter special sweet gajak, hot milk and jalebi are some of the ways to get relief from the cold. Dry fruits are also in the list. People preferred to remain inside their house most of the time during the day due to the biting cold.
