Ujjain: The revenue department in association with police freed a chunk of railway land from encroachments near Madhav Nagar railway station on Saturday. According to information, a joint team of the local administration carried out the drive near the railway station ( in front of the Bharatiya Gyanpeeth and Lokmanya Tilak School).
The team first demolished permanent constructions on about 2945 sq ft land. Likewise, demarcation of about 9700 sq ft land was also made till evening.According to tehsildar Sunil Patil, both the lands belong to the railways department, but dispute was prevailing between the department and the waqf board and the matter was finally reached in the court. The court had recently ordered to vacate the land and also to carry out the demarcation on the land owned by the department.The administrative team had on January 9 tried to conduct its action, but had to return from there owing to protest.
