These views were expressed by chief guest HoD, School of Studies in Chemistry, Vikram University Dr BK Mehta during a prize distribution ceremony of the competitions organised under the International Chemistry Year- 2011 under the aegis of MP Council for Science and Technology, Bhopal at the School for Excellence, Madhav Nagar, here on Wednesday. Joint Director Lok Shikshan OL Mandloi chaired the occasion, while Principal Abhay Kumar Tomar was present.
According to coordinator Dr Yogendra Kothari, Isha Saxena, Sumit Prajapat and Sanjana Chakraborthy bagged the first, second and third prizes, respectively in the Seminar presentation, while Shoaib Ali bagged the consolation prize.
Brajesh Sharma and Dr Meena Vadhwani also expressed their views during the seminar. Kunjdeep Singh Chauhan recited a poem on Chemistry. Rajesh Gandhara conducted the programme, while vote of thanks was proposed by Brajesh Sharma. Moreover, a workshop was organised under the direction of Principal Abhay Kumar Tomar on the occasion of International Chemistry Year. Key speaker was Dr Brajesh Pare of Government Madhav Science College. In his address on Green Chemistry he said that the increasing chemical pollution is dangerous for human beings.
Those chemical which are environment friendly should be promoted. Chief guest Principal Government Higher Secondary School Kharsod Kala also addressed on this occasion.
Dr Yogendra Kothari imparted information about woman scientist Dr Maria Skedovaska Qury and her achievements in the field of physics in the year 1903 and she also received the Nobel Prize in 1911 in the field of chemistry. Dr Pradip Kumar Trivedi and Ayush Verma conducted the programme, while Brajesh Sharma proposed a vote of thanks.
