Ujjain : A speech competition on the topic ‘use of Chinese products a threat to Indian economy and security’ was organised at Government school of Excellence, Madhav Nagar on Saturday.
The competition was organised by Bharat Vikas Parishad, Sandipani. Competition coordinator CB Khullar informed that students presented their views on the topic and underlined the negative effects that the usage of Chinese products posed on Indian economy. Students also appealed to common people to boycott Chinese products.
President of the central zone, Ishwar Patel, secretary Parag Kabra and chief guest BL Mundra also addressed in the event and enlightened students on the topic. Welcome speech and guest introduction was done by Pramod Jain. Shobha Shoche and Suchita Chandorkar were judges while prizes were sponsored by Tally academy. Nitin Sethiya proposed a vote of thanks.
In another event to encourage people to say no to Chinese products, the Bharatiya Janata Party staged a street play at Chhatri Chowk on Saturday. BJP workers inspired people to use indigenous made products. Media in-charge Sachin Saxena said that on the one hand China had deployed army at borders and making anti- India statements on an international level and on other hand doing business with us.
This campaign is initiated to give China a firm answer by boycotting its products. The campaign was held under the guidance of city head Iqbal Singh Gandhi. Through the play, artists enacted the harmful effects of substandard and cheap Chinese products on environment and health. During festivals like Raksha-bandhan, Diwali and Holi, markets get filled with items from China, which is threat to the livelihood of local artisans and labourers, he said. Special guest at the event was divisional organizing secretary, Pradeep Joshi. Energy Minister Paras Jain, Mohan Yadav, Suresh Giri and others were present.
