Ujjain: Voters’ awareness rallies were taken out in the city on Saturday to mark the National Voters’ Day.Employees of different departments and students of city schools attended the rally to spread awareness among people about the polling. Various organisations and academic institutes also celebrated the occasion.
Two rallies were taken out from Shahid Park and Mahakal Maidan on the occasion of National Voters’ Day. Government Madhav College principal Dr LN Verma flagged off the rally at Shahid Park. In the rallies, students were holding placards spreading messages.
Anganbadi workers, NCC cadets and NSS volunteers were present while a band playing the patriotic tunes moved ahead the rally. The awareness rally passed through different city routes and ended at Government Madhav College at Dewasgate. Vikram University Vice- chancellor Prof JL Kaul was chief guest while IG V Madhu Kumar, Collector BM Sharma and SP Anurag present on this occasion. Guests gave away prizes to winners of different competitions on this occasion.
As the general elections are near. Administration has been doing extensive publicity on National Voters’ Day with the help of slogans, flax, banners, boards and hoardings. Publicity is being done make voters aware to join polling in rural areas and city localities.
Aanganbadi workers have been promoting for voters’ awareness though slogan writing and group discussion competitions.
Likewise, School of Engineering and Technology, Vikram University celebrated National Voters Day on Saturday. Coordinator Prof Vishnu Kumar Saxena administered an oath to students on this occasion.
