Bio products have become crying need of the day: Kusmaria
BHOPAL: Industries and food processing minister Kailash Vijayvargiya on Friday called for adopting a practical approach for farm produce storage system, keeping in mind the farmersalt39 interests.
He said the governments have to shun traditional thinking and implement uniform policies and schemes for this.
He was speaking at a seminar on alt39 Negotiable Warehouse Receipt in Warehouses and Cold Storagesalt39 on Friday.
The seminar was organised by PHD Chambers Madhya Pradesh unit in association with Warehousing Development & Regulatory Authority.
Referring to the agriculture cabinet constituted by chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, he said it was taking concrete and collective decisions to safeguard the farmersalt39 interests.
Vijayvargiya also laid stress on the need for connecting farmers with the formulation of integrated storage scheme being chalked out by all the concerning agencies.
Agriculture minister Ramkrishna Kusmaria, who also spoke on the occasion, said bio- products have become becoming the crying need of the world.
” Therefore, a policy should be chalked out for construction of godowns and cold storages for farm produce,” he said.
Addressing the meeting, state Warehousing Corporation chairman Rajendra Singh Rajput laid stress on formulating storage policy as per seasonal and local requirements.
PHD Chambers president R S Bedi emphasised on the need for quality of storage of food grains.
