  • Ujjain: Cleanliness inspection continues at various levels

    Ujjain: Ujjain Municipal Corporation commissioner Dr Vijay Kumar J, continued his rounds of inspection and inspected Dewas Gate bus stand, railway station, Nanakheda bus stand, the private bus stand, Madhav nagar railway station, waste collection sub-station, Nagar Kot fish market, Bhargava Marg and Maksi road vegetable market on Tuesday morning.

  • Ujjain: Hurdles in cornea transplant processes discussed at eye donation meet

    Ujjain: A meeting on eye-donation was held on Monday at Brihaspati Bhavan, Kothi Palace on Tuesday evening. The meeting was presided over by the president of Madhya Pradesh Pharmacy counselling, Om Jain. Prakash Chittoda provided guidance for the meeting and deputy collector Shaili Kanas was coordinator.

  • Ujjain: Two minors raped, hunt on for culprits

    Ujjain: Two separate rape cases occurred in the city on Monday. A 14-year-old girl was raped by a restaurant owner, Siddhusingh Dewda when the girl was alone at home in Annapurna Nagar. When the girl’s mother returned, she told her about it and a case was registered in Nanakheda police station.

  • Ujjain: Pregnant woman dies at Charak hospital due to alleged medical negligence

    Ujjain: Family members of a pregnant woman who died of alleged negligence by Charak hospital staff, protested outside the hospital on Monday.  Naina Vishal, 21, was three months pregnant and admitted in the hospital to get an abortion done, after undergoing severe pain. Doctors operated her on Monday evening, but post operation, her condition deteriorated resulting in her death at night.

  • Ujjain: Divisional Commissioner MB Ojha holds review meeting of divisional officers

    Ujjain: Divisional Commissioner MB Ojha held a weekly review meeting of divisional officers at Brihaspati Bhawan, on Tuesday. During the meeting, he gave orders to remove names of those who had not availed fair price ration for the last eight months, under the Food Security Scheme, from the eligibility list, assuming that they did not require fair price ration.

  • Ujjain: Mass marriage convention of Nagar Brahmin community held at Hotel Shanti Palace

    Ujjain: A mass marriage convention of the Nagar Brahmin community was held at Hotel Shanti Palace on Tuesday. Fifteen couples of the community tied the knot at the event. A functionary of the organizing committee Rajesh Joshi said ‘yagyopaveet sanskar’ of 12 children belonging to the community was also performed simultaneously by priests.

  • Ujjain: Mayor inspects cleanliness arrangements

    Ujjain: Mayor Meena Jonwal conducted a cleanliness inspection of Maksi Road vegetable market, fish market in Fazalpura, Dewas Gate bus stand, railway station, Indore gate railway goods warehouse, Sadawal road, Vrindavan Pura and other areas behind the railway community hall. She also inspected the cleanliness arrangements in public toilets in these areas and gave necessary instructions to officials concerned.

    Ujjain: The ‘Ram rajya rath yatra’ organised by Ramdas mission universal society will reach the city today. Idols of Ram-Janki and Lord Hanuman have been displayed in the chariot along with the replicas of ‘Ram Paduka’ from Nandigram, ‘Sitachooramani’ from Sri Lanka, a flag from Rameshwaram and the ‘Akhand Jyoti’ from Mookambika Devi temple in Karnataka.     Ujjain: A meeting of all department workers and teachers was held at Gandhi Balodyan, Kshirsagar to form a core committee to operate the National movement for restoration of the old pension scheme. In the meeting, district president GS Mehar, informed about the losses caused by the new pension scheme.

    Ujjain: Preliminary exam of state service 2018 of Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) was held on Sunday. Around 7000 aspirants appeared in the exam held at 17 centres in the city.

  • Ujjain: Parshvanath City colonisers, managers booked for fraud

    Ujjain: A case of fraud and cheating has been lodged against managers and colonisers of Parshvanath City. They have been accused of selling Ujjain Municipal Corporation’s mortgaged plots to more than 10 people for lakhs of rupees. A case of fraud has been lodged with Nagjhiri police station under Section 420 of the IPC.
