    Ujjain: With Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan clicking on laptop to launch ‘Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana’ here on Wednesday, a sum of Rs 135 crore was directly transferred in the bank accounts of around 1.35 lakh farmers. About 19 lakh farmers got their names registered in the yojana and the beneficiaries who sold their agriculture produce between October 16 and October 31 were given the lump sum amount.

    Ujjain: A bag containing Rs 4 lakh in cash was stolen from a manager’s cabin at District Central Cooperative Bank’s Badnagar branch on Monday. Peer casing centre incharge Jagdish Chandra Sisodiya had collected Rs 4 lakh from farmers and had kept it on manager’s table in the bank for depositing. He left to drink water and on return found the bag missing.

    Ujjain: Akshay Rathore of Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Mahakalpuram won gold medal in under 76 kg category at Akhil Bharti Vidya Bharti wrestling competition. According to wrestling coach Jaykumar Rathore, Rathore was on way to represent Vidya Bharati in the SGFI All India wrestling competition to be held in Dhulia from November 20-25.

    Ujjain: A delegation of ABVP leaders and student council found water tank of Government Madhav Science College in a bad condition during an inspection. They found carcass of a pigeon, along with insects and pests in the tank. Students have been consuming the water supplied from the
    tank. In the last few weeks, several students fell sick by contaminated water. Suspecting some wrong doing, ABVP leaders inspected the tank.

    Ujjain: Neelganga police authorities launched a manhunt to nab two people who allegedly raped a woman on Thursday. The woman (35) is a resident of Mangliya (Indore district). Police said a ‘magic’ vehicle driver along with another youth misguided the woman in question, who had come to worship at the local temples and took a ride in the vehicle from Chamunda Mata Mandir.
