    Ujjain: To counter BJP’s ‘jan ashirwad yatra’, undertaken by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan ahead of Assembly electrions-2018, the Congress party kicked-off its jan jagaran yatra from Tarana tehsil of the district on Wednesday, under the leadership of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Kamal Nath.

  • Ujjain: Police confiscate truck carrying 2000 pieces of raw cow leather

    Ujjain: A police team comprising crime branch and Mahakal police station officers, during a search operation caught a truck carrying cow leather on Tuesday. Police seized the truck near Mullapura railway crossing and recovered 2000 pieces of raw cow leather during the search operation from inside the truck. They seized the truck along with three persons on the spot and interrogated them.

The education department has issued an order to transfer 1400 students of the Government Girls Higher Secondary school from Maharajwada School building to a nearby dilapidated building at Chardham Mandir.

    Ujjain: Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will arrive in the city on Saturday at 10.20 am where he will take part in several programmes. According to official information he will participate in plantation programme and address public meeting at Nanakheda Stadium. He will also pay obeisance at Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple.   • Ujjain: ISKCON’s Jagannath Yatra to be taken out on Saturday

    Ujjain: International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) will take out 12th Jagannath Yatra on Saturday. ISKCON member Raghav Das informed that rituals would be performed at 1 pm and after the worship of rath of Lord Jagannath at 1.30 pm the yatra will be initiated at 2 pm. It will take a round of city area from Budhwariya, Kanthal, Naisadak, Daulautganj, Chamunda Mata Chouraha and will conclude at ISKCON temple, Dewas Road.

  • Ujjain: Antisocial elements damage idols of 3 temples in a week

    Ujjain: Tension spread in Ankpat after unscrupulous elements tampered with idols of deities situated in the temple on Saturday night. According to details available an idol of a Goddess which was placed in 30 years old temple at Ankapatmarg, was damaged following which members of the Sarv Hindu Samaj claimed that anti-social elements had damaged the idols of three temples of the area within a period of seven days.

  • Ujjain: Speed up unorganised labourers’ registration, says UMC commissioner

    Ujjain: Municipal commissioner Pratibha Pal convened a review meeting and took stock of registration of unorganised labourers. Pal asked officials for speeding up the registration of labourers of unorganised sector.  Instructing the officials concerned she set a minimum limit of per day registration to not less than 2300 labourers. She expressed her dissatisfaction on the report presented by the official concerned in this regard during the meeting.
