    London: Opening batsman Danushka Gunathilaka has been suspended for six international matches by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) for breaching the player code of conduct and contractual obligation. As per ESPNcricinfo.com, the decision was taken following an initial inquiry conducted by Sri Lanka Cricket after the team management reported that the player has violated the ”code of conduct.’ SLC, reportedly, attributed the six-match suspension to two code violations.

    Colombo: Sri Lanka’s suspended opening batsman Danushka Gunathilaka was left out Tuesday from the 15-man squad to play the five-match one-day international series against the touring South African side. Gunathilaka, 27, was suspended on Sunday by Sri Lanka Cricket over a “misconduct” charge after a close associate of his was arrested for allegedly raping a Norwegian woman in the team hotel in Colombo.

    Colombo: Batsman Danushka Gunathilaka has been suspended over a misconduct charge in the middle of Sri Lanka’s second Test against South Africa, the country’s cricket board said today. The 27-year-old opener will be barred from all forms of the game pending the outcome of an investigation, the board said, without specifying the alleged misconduct. The suspension will go into effect after the Test is concluded in Colombo, it added.
