    Mumbai: The CBI Tuesday urged the Bombay High Court to dismiss a PIL that questions the probe agency’s decision not to challenge the discharge granted to BJP chief Amit Shah in the Sohrabuddin Shaikh fake encounter case. Appearing for the CBI, Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh argued that the PIL, filed by the Bombay Lawyers Association, was merely a publicity stunt.

    Mumbai: The Bombay High Court will resume hearing from July 4 on a bunch of revision petitions challenging the discharge of some senior police officers accused in the alleged fake encounter of Sohrabuddin Shaikh. Three petitions filed by Sohrabuddin’s brother Rubabuddin and two of the CBI were left part heard when assignments of some judges in the high court were changed suddenly in February.

    Mumbai: One of the prime witnesses in the staged encounter case of Sohrabuddin Sheikh on Wednesday appeared before a special court, with full police protection. The witness, an advocate from Udaipur in Rajasthan stuck to his original statements, which incriminate the accused police officials, including the discharged IPS officials, in the case.     Mumbai: A special CBI court on Tuesday declared two more prosecution witnesses as hostile in the staged encounter case of Sohrabuddin Sheikh his wife Kausar Bi and close aide Tulsiram Prajapati.
