    RTI query on state civic corporations’ transparency: ‘Since report is in submission no information can be provided’

    Mumbai: Government has no interest in ensuring transparency in working of Municipal corporations in Maharashtra. The three-member committee appointed to recommend measures to ensure transparency in the working of all municipal corporations including Mumbai, is gathering dust for the past 132 days, as per the information provided to RTI activist Anil Galgali leading to speculation about the intention of the government in implementing the recommendations.

    Government spent Rs 132.38 crore on advertisements for GST     

    New Delhi: The government spent Rs 132.38 crore on advertisements for GST, an agency under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has said in reply to an RTI query. As per the Bureau of Outreach and Communication under the ministry, the “expenditure on GST advertisements through this bureau” on print media stood at Rs 1,26,93,97,121.

    Mumbai: According to a Right to Information Act query, the data of Mumbai police has revealed the city of dreams, Mumbai, has recorded a total of 10,657 suicide cases in the last nine years, from 2008 to 2016.     Half of missing people in Mumbai are in the age group of 16 to 25 years: RTI

    Maharashtra government collects Rs 14,047 crores as Profession Tax in last 7 years
