    Pune University removes DSK chapter from syllabus

    Pune: The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has removed a chapter on city-based real estate developer DS Kulkarni, an accused in a multi-crore cheating case, from the commerce curriculum for under-graduate course. The chapter on Kulkarni titled “Leader in Real Estate Business” was part of “Yashogatha”, a textbook written by Dr PC Shejwalkar for Marathi subject for the first year B.Com course, a senior varsity official said on Monday night.

    My degree is not bogus, Maha education minister says after row

    Mumbai: Maharashtra Education Minister Vinod Tawde today said the engineering “degree” he obtained from a Pune institute in 1984 is not bogus as claimed by a television news channel. The minister’s clarification came after media reports that his BE Electronics “degree” was fake. “I am a student of Pune’s Dnyaneshwar Vidyapeeth and I am proud of it. I have never hidden the degree I obtained from that university,” Tawde told reporters here.
