  • Govt Backs UPA Move On Reservation To Jats

    New Delhi : The Modi government on Thursday strongly defended in the Supreme Court the previous UPA-II government”s decision to extend the OBC reservation to Jats in nine states just before the Lok Sabha elections, asserting that it was done in public interest and based on the material available with the government.

  • OBC cuts home loan rates by 0.5%

    New Delhi:  State-owned Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) cut home loan rate by 0.5 per cent to 10.25 per cent. The bank has reduced the interest rates on home loans of above Rs 75 lakh by 0.5 per cent from 10.75 per cent to 10.25 per cent, OBC said in a statement.   Last week, SBI slashed home loan rate by up to 0.15 per cent and removed the slab for advances. 

  • Lok Ayukta registers criminal cases against govt officials, six colleges

    Indore : The Lok Ayukta has registered separate criminal cases against three government officials and six paramedical colleges of the district in respect of misappropriation of funds through payment of fake scholarships or education fees, as the case may be, to ST/SC and OBC students.
