    Afghanistan: Suicide bomber kills 32, 132 injured in attack on protestors

    Afghanistan: At least 32 people have been killed and around 130 wounded in a suicide attack on a gathering of protestors in eastern Afghanistan. A suicide bomber is believed to have targeted a group of men who demanded the dismissal of a local police commander in the country’s Achin district, Al Jazeera quoted the governor’s spokesman, Ataullah Khogyani. However, the reason for the demonstration against the police chief was not immediately clear.

    Jalalabad: A boy was killed and four others wounded in a double bombing outside a girls’ school in restive eastern Afghanistan on Tuesday, officials and witnesses said, in the latest violence to hit the country. The first explosion happened in front of Malika Omaira girls’ school in Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar province, at around 8:30 am, provincial governor spokesman Ataullah Khogyani told AFP.

    Kabul: Afghan forces mistakenly killed nine people, most of them civilians, during raid on a house in eastern Nangarhar province which has been a base for the Islamic State group and other militants, officials said today. The raid, which took place late last night in Chaparhar district, also wounded eight other civilians, said provincial governor Hayatullah Hayat. A local police commander was among the dead, he added.

    Kabul: At least 11 Islamic State (IS) militants were killed after US and NATO-led coalition forces launched airstrikes in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province, authorities said on Monday. “The drone strikes were launched on Sunday. Two IS militants were also wounded and three vehicles were destroyed after the raids,” an Army statement said.

According to the Tolo News, the provincial government media office, in a statement, confirmed the air strike and said it had killed at least four militants and that eight others were injured.
