  • Ujjain: Municipal Commissioner inspects Neelganga pond

    Ujjain: Municipal commissioner Pratibha Pal on Tuesday inspected Neelganga pond from where encroachments were razed recently. She issued an order of demarcation of the pond to SDM and patwari. SDM Anil Banwariya, superintending engineer Hanskumar Jain, executive engineer Rambabu Sharma, zonal officer Yogendra Gangrade and other concerned officials accompanied her.

  • Ujjain: Municipal commissioner takes stock of cleanliness arrangement

    Ujjain: Municipal commissioner Pratibha Pal inspected various areas of the city and took stock of cleanliness arrangement on Wednesday. The commissioner visited ISKCON temple, Agar Road, Chamundamata Square, Koyalafatak, Indira Nagar, Purushottam Sagar, Ankpat Marg, Nikas Chouraha, Kanthal Chouraha, Naisadak, Doulatganj, Fawwara Chowk, Indore Gate, Dewas Gate and Freeganj areas. Deputy commissioner Yogendra Patel and health officer BS Mehte were also present.

    Mumbai : A Hamlet-like situation prevails in Mumbai on the first day of plastic ban. Public is unsure whether garbage bin bags, the thin plastic ones are banned or not. Confusion continues to prevail and after much persuasion by journalists and public, additional municipal commissioner, Nidhi Chaudhari responded on social media after photos were sent to her to confirm the status of banned bin bags.

    Ujjain: Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC)’s main office and six zonal offices wore a deserted look as employees went on indefinite strike and demonstrated in front of the entry gate on Monday. The employees are demanding salaries as per the 7th pay commission’s salary and other demands.

Removal gang of IMC accompanied by police personnel demolished houses, which were put in category of dangerous building ahead of monsoon.

    Ujjain: Mayor Meena Jonwal and municipal commissioner Pratibha Pall on Friday visited Jogipura, Shankarpur, Telkeshwar and Bapu Nagar and took stock of buildings under construction and other ongoing work under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, they had also discussion with beneficiaries. Zone head Vinita Sharma, corporator Premlata Gehlot, Rajesh Rathi, superintending engineer Hanskumar Jain, executive engineer Arun Jain and sub engineer Manoj Rajwani were also present there.

    Ujjain: A Congress corporators’ delegation met the municipal commissioner Pratibha Pal on Wednesday under the leadership of leader of opposition Rajendra Vashishtha and discussed problems of the city at length. The delegation demanded supply of purified potable water across the city and alleged inaction on the part of the Public health engineering (PHE) department in the matter.

    Ujjain: Municipal commissioner Pratibha Pal convened a meeting of health department officials and employees on Tuesday. Addressing the meeting the commissioner expressed her unhappiness over the present status of cleanliness of the city. She also suggested removing the present contractors and cancelled their contracts immediately by blacklisting them.

    HC summons municipal commissioner over non-compliance of order

     Mumbai:  Irked by non-compliance of court orders by municipal authorities, the Bombay High Court has directed Mumbai civic chief Ajoy Mehta to appear before it tomorrow. The order was passed by vacation judge Justice S J Kathawala yesterday while hearing a petition filed by tenants of Bhatia Building, a century-old structure in south Mumbai, against four landlords.

  • Indore: Internal constructions may lead to hotel collapse

    Indore: A 4-member committee has been constituted by Municipal Commissioner Manish Singh to probe hotel building collapse incident. The committee comprising Additional Municipal Commissioner Devendra Singh, executive engineer (public works) Ashok Rathore, city planner Vishnu Khare and building officer Om Prakash Goyal has been directed to complete probe within seven days and submit its report.

    Bhopal: Mayor Alok Sharma and municipal commissioner Priyanka Das on Monday felicitated two sanitation workers for their selfless act of rushing an injured man to hospital in garbage vehicle.

    BMC Budget must prioritise education

    The BMC is proposing to bring  about cosmetic changes in the  schools without addressing the  basic issues which are poor quality  of education, high dropout rate  and sub-standard mid-day meals.  The main problem is the lack of  effective supervision and control  and the failure to check the graft  among civic officials and middle men.

    Thane: Municipal Commissioner Sanjeev Jaiswal called an urgent meeting on the holiday of Eid. The officers were called and given a time limit for completing all major projects sanctioned by the Thane Municipal Corporation by end of June 2018. Meanwhile, a decision was also taken to set up a special committee comprising Chief Account and Finance Officer, Municipal Chief Auditor and City  Engineer, in order to reduce the delay in the process
