  • Ujjain: Maintain holiness of city, say office-bearers of ‘Swarnim Bharat Manch’ to collector

    Ujjain: Swarnim Bharat Manch (SBM) office-bearers held a meeting with collector Manish Singh at Brihaspati Bhawan Kothi on Friday.  Manch convener Dinesh Shrivastava said that the meeting aimed at maintaining holiness of the religious city Ujjain. He said that eateries selling non-vegetarian food near temple premises were hurting devotees visiting the temple.

  • Ujjain: Tribal welfare department’s District convener and in-charge district convener suspended

    Ujjain: Ujjain tribal welfare department’s district convener and his predecessor were suspended for keeping complaint regarding inter-marriage promotion incentive lodged with Chief Minister’s helpline pending. District convener RR Shukla and his predecessor SK Rawat were suspended on the basis of collector Manish Singh’s probe report. The two were suspended on Sunday after the report was approved by divisional commissioner MB Ojha.

    Ujjain: The annual Kshipra parikrama will start on May 23 from Ramghat and end on the same venue on May 24. On Wednesday, collector Manish Singh held a meeting of department heads and handed over responsibilities. Public representatives were also invited in the meeting.

    Indore: A 4-member committee has been constituted by Municipal Commissioner Manish Singh to probe hotel building collapse incident. The committee comprising Additional Municipal Commissioner Devendra Singh, executive engineer (public works) Ashok Rathore, city planner Vishnu Khare and building officer Om Prakash Goyal has been directed to complete probe within seven days and submit its report.

    Mumbai: In a case of extreme barbarity and cruelty, a man not only killed himself, but also tried to kill his entire family. The said incident happened, a day after two members of a Nalasopara-based family died of poisoning while two others had to be admitted to a hospital for treatment for the same reason.     Ratnagiri : Former Congress MP Nilesh Rane was on Friday arrested by the Chiplun police in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra in an assault and kidnap case. Nilesh, son of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Narayan Rane, was later produced in the magistrate’s court which rejected his bail application after remanding him in 14-day judicial custody.
