    Mumbai: The developing cyclone off the coast of Odisha is set to bring heavy to moderate showers in Vidarbha and north-central Maharashtra, according to an Indian Meteorology Department (IMD) official. They have also predicted heavy rainfall over the weekend in most parts of Vidarbha, Marathwada, Khandesh and central Maharashtra.

    BJP claims land purchaser in Nanar related to Shiv Sena

    Mumbai: The land purchase issue at Nanar site in Konkan by investors from Mumbai took an ugly turn on Thursday when Pramod Jathar, former legislator of Bharatiya Janata Party claimed the investors and land purchasers are from a specific community, but the money invested through the purchasers belongs to builders and developers related to the political party, which is opposing the multi-crore refinery project.

    Mumbai: After strongly opposing the petrochemical project at Nanar in Konkan, Shiv Sena has now decided to oppose land acquisition process for Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train in Palghar district.     Mumbai: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis while reacting to Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray’s remark on Nanar refinery, sarcastically said, state has to shift its sea in Vidarbha to fulfil Uddhav’s demand.     Mumbai: Farmers and villagers today demanded scrapping of a mega refinery proposed in the Konkan region of Maharashtra, saying the project will destroy the rich flora and fauna in the coastal area and adversely affect the health of its residents. The petroleum ministry plans to set up the refinery at Rajapur in Ratnagiri district of the region, about 400km from Mumbai. It is to be called West Coast Refinery.
