  • Ujjain: BJP MLA faces Karni Sena’s ire over his controversial statement

    Infuriated Rajput Karni Sena activists staged a demonstration in front of Ujjain South BJP MLA Mohan Yadav’s office here on Thursday in protest against his controversial statement. Yadav’s portraits were also beaten by shoes in Bhopal earlier in the day. MLA Mohan Yadav had reportedly said that the sawaran samaj (forward society) was being funded from foreign countries for their movement against enforcement of new SC-ST Prevention of Atrocities Act, 2018.

  • Bhopal: Agitation by Upper Castes, protestors enter PWD minister’s house, thrashed

    People belonging to upper castes that created a ruckus in many places in the state capital, to protest against the amended SC/ST Atrocity Act, were battered by the police, on Thursday. Different upper caste organisations including Sarv Bharami Samaj, Rajput Samaj and Karni Sena had called a gherao of the CM house. Their members gathered at the Habibganj Naka and marched towards the CM house carrying the banners, posters and black flags.

    The organisations opposing SC/ST (Prevention of atrocities) Act have joined hands and come under one umbrella Kala Kanoon Virodhi Morch. The Morcha has decided to continue their agitation against the law until it is withdrawn.
