     Mumbai   : Reliance Industries (RIL) on Friday announced that a subsidiary of its Reliance Holding USA has closed the sale of its upstream Marcellus shale assets, in the US, to BKV Chelsea for USD 126 million. The firm said that Reliance Marcellus II has sold its interest in the shale gas assets, in northeastern and central Pennsylvania, to BKV Chelsea, which is an oil and gas affiliate of American investment firm

    Caracas : An 18-year-old man died in violent protests against embattled President Nicolas Maduro, prosecutors said. The young man’s death raised to 32 the number of people killed in a month of demonstrations against the socialist leader’s government and his plan to rewrite the constitution.     Youth dies after being hit by tear gas shell in Valley

    Srinagar : An 18-year-old youth was killed on Saturday after being hit by a tear gas shell fired by security forces to disperse a mob which indulged in stone-pelting in Zainakote area of the city, officials said.     Ranchi : Carrying forward the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to connect eastern India to the Natural Gas grid, the Government of Jharkhand and GAIL (India) Limited signed a Gas Cooperation Agreement (GCA) for creation of Natural Gas and City Gas Distribution infrastructure, which will facilitate construction of “Urja Ganga” Jagdishpur – Haldia Pipeline project in the state.

    New Delhi : Cairn India will by month end exit its Sri Lankan gas block after two discoveries it had made were found to be commercially unviable.  Cairn, whose main asset are the oilfields in Barmer district of Rajasthan, will relinquish the 2,912 sq km block SL-2007-01-001 in the Mannar basin after expiry of exploration period at end of October, sources privy to the development told PTI.

  • Cairn to invest Rs 1,400 cr to raise oil, gas carrying capacity

    Hyderabad : Cairn India is set to expand its crude oil and natural gas carrying capacity by laying a new gas pipeline from its Barmer (Rajasthan) field with an investment outlay of Rs 1,400 crore. Moreover, crude oil output would be expanded from 200,000 bopd (barrels of oil per day) to 300,000 bopd and natural gas carrying capacity from 6.3 mmscfd (million standard cubic feet per day) to 40 mmscfd, they said.
