Mumbai: Cold chain is going to create more jobs as it would need more manpower than technology. Consequently, making it a sunrise sector, explains Ravichandran Purushothaman, President, Danfoss India. He said this at the ‘Cold chain solutions for tomorrow’s India’ forum organised by Free Press Journal-Moneycontrol in Mumbai.
Mumbai: There is a constant growth that is taking place in the cold chain sector. Presently, the sector is growing at a CAGR of 15 per cent, said B Thiagarajan, joint managing director of Blue Star. Even as the cold chain sector keeps growing every year, the demand for the cold chain system comes primarily from dairy, ice cream, pharma etc
Mumbai: From increasing exports to accelerating food processing, to increasing efficiency in farm, are usually considered as enablers to double farmer’s income. But none of this will be possible unless you have a mechanism to maximise the nutritional value of agricultural output, and minimise losses as well.
Mumbai: In the next three years, there will be massive investments made in the cold chain sector, stated Pankaj Khandelwal, Managing Director of InI Farms. This is mainly because India lacks robust cold chain infrastructure and funds will be needed there.
Mumbai: Despite India being the second largest road network in the world, there is a constant need for the network to evolve and add more roads to this network if we want to connect the ever-growing population of the country. At the same time, as was clear when the US suffered the crippling economic depression of the 1930s, there is nothing like road-building to provide jobs and to catalyse economic growth.
