    New Delhi: Calling the World Environment Day celebrations in India “historic”, UN Environment chief Erik Solheim has said by announcing that it will phase out single-use plastics by 2022, India has demonstrated global leadership. During an event to celebrate the WED-2018 on June 5 in New Delhi, Environment Minister Harsh Vardhan, in presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, pledged to eliminate single-use plastics from India by 2022.

    Mumbai : The BCCI and UN Environment on Sunday signed an agreement to promote ‘green’ cricket in India. BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary and Erik Solheim, Executive Director of UN Environment, signed a letter of intent at the BCCI headquarters here ahead of the IPL final between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad(SRH).
