    Mumbai: No bidders for Deonar dumping ground waste to energy plant proposal

    Mumbai: After no bidders showed interest in Deonar dumping ground waste to energy plant proposal the previous year, the Solid Waste Management (SWM) department of the civic body has decided to reduce the garbage quantity. According to officials now it has decided to reduce waste processing quantity from 3,000 metric tonnes to 750 metric tonnes.

    Mumbai : Two more scrap dealers were arrested by the Shivaji Nagar Police late on Thursday night, in connection with the Deonar dumping ground fires. They were presented before the Metropolitan Magistrate’s court at Kurla on Friday and have been awarded police custody till April 25, when the next hearing will take place. Deputy Commissioner of Police Sangramsing Nishandar confirmed the arrests.
