    An untoward incident was averted when tension erupted between two people of two sects over issue of placing the idol of lord Ganesha for which bhumi poojan was being held at Khajoorwali Masjid area on Friday.   • Ujjain: MP Chintamani Malviya to chair DRSC’s maiden meeting today

    Ujjain: In a bid to oblige Members of Parliament (MPs), the Union government has reconstituted District Road Safety Committees (DRSC) across the country and made them its chairman. After this significant move, the first meeting of Ujjain’s newly-constituted DSRC is scheduled for Saturday at 4 pm at Simhastha Fair Authority.

    Ujjain: A district level Kisan Sammelan was organised on Sunday at Chimanganj Krishi Upaj Mandi. Energy minister Paras Jain was the chief guest of the programme while MP Chintamani Malviya presided over the meeting. On this occasion officials informed the farmers that around Rs 103 crores had been transferred to bank accounts of registered farmers as rate difference for wheat crop for the year 2017-18.

    Ujjain: Dispute over possession of a land adjacent to the Pushpa Mission Hospital continued for the fourth consecutive day, on Tuesday with both parties claiming ownership rights. Following a verbal duel between supporters of both parties and incidents of stone pelting, senior police, revenue and administrative officers visited the site, but to no avail. Heavy police force has been deployed in the area till the matter is resolved.

  • Ujjain: Striking employees of VU meet MP Malviya

    Ujjain: Class-III and Class-IV employees of Vikram University who have been on an indefinite strike since Tuesday, met Member of Parliament Chintamani Malviya to discuss their demands. The employees of the university were observing a serial strike for their 21-point demands, and had decided to go on an indefinite strike. The offices of vice- chancellor and reader, which are usually opened by class IV employees, remained closed on account of the strike.

    Ujjain: Member of Parliament (MP), Chintamani Malviya handed over electronic motorised tricycles to 22 specially-abled at a function at his residence on Monday. The equipment was distributed under the MP fund and ADIP scheme run by the Government of India.  Divyang persons with more than 80 per cent disability were eligible to receive the advantage of the scheme.
