  • Maharashtra: CBI conducts raids across state for exchange of scrapped notes

    Mumbai: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Thursday has conducted searches at 32 places in Maharashtra including the administrative office and 17 branches of a Maharashtra based Co-operative Bank Ltd., and the residential premises of the accused persons at Pune, Baramati and Lonavala in an on-going investigation of a case relating to alleged exchange of demonetized currency notes. Incriminating documents recovered during searches are being scrutinised.

    Bhopal: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday filed charge sheet before the special court here against 95 accused including 83 candidates, four Vyapam officials and eight middlemen in a case pertaining to irregularities committed in Samvida Shala Shikshak Patrata Pariksha Varg-3 examination conducted by Vyapam in 2011.

  • Mumbai: CBI not to challenge discharge of senior IPS officers in Sohrabuddin encounter case

    Mumbai: The CBI told the Bombay High Court on Monday that it will not challenge the recent discharge by the trial court of any of the senior IPS officers in the Sohrabuddin encounter case. The absolved senior officers include former Deputy Inspector General of Gujarat D.G. Vanzara; they have all been discharged in the alleged fake encounter killing of Sohrabuddin and his aide Tulsiram Prajapati.
