Low price netbooks, Zenbook Flip & more

How low can you get?

Search for prices online, and it can be a learning experience. Take my own experiences when looking out for an inexpensive netbook or notebook recently. If you visit just one or two sites, you are unlikely to get a good price. Suddenly, it will seem as if there are so few options around. And all the ones available are very high priced.

Since I needed only a backup laptop, one which I’d be using only rather irregularly, investing too much into it would not make sense. So price was crucial. is a fairly good option. Unlike other sites, it has quite a few options under Rs 10k or thereabouts. For instance iBall Excelance CompBook (Rs 9,885), Micromax Canvas Lapbook L1161 (Rs 10,279).

There’s also Vox VN01 Netbook (Rs 6899), Asus S400CA-CA039H (Rs 8,261) and even the Vox VN02 Netbook (Rs 4499). My only problem is that some came with Windows, and I want Linux. Android might do.
