Suspended cop threatens scribe

Ujjain: Suspended Kotwali police station in- charge threatened a scribe of shooting him dead if he doesn’t publish a news item regarding complaint of SP Anurag Kumar with Chief Election Commissioner ( CEC), on Wednesday night. Scribe submitted a complaint letter at Madhav Nagar police.

Central Kotwali police station in- charge ogendra Singh adav was suspended by SP Anurag Kumar in connection with dereliction towards duties on Wednesday. Cop alleged that he was made scapegoat as the SP and other senior police officers wanted to shield the BJP candidate from Ghattiya Satish

Malviya, against whom a local court had issued a permanent arrest warrant. adav’s wife made a complaint before CEC against SP Anurag, alleging him of misusing his office during Model Code of Conduct enforced in view of Assembly Elections- 2013, so as to benefit the BJP candidate from Ghattiya Satish Malviya.

During conversation, adav threatened scribe Lalit Jain of shooting him dead and forcing him to publish the news in his favour. Scribe filed a complaint letter at Madhav Nagar police station.

Meanwhile, a police team reached at the Basant Vihar located residence of TI adav and asked him to immediately surrender his service revolver, uniform and walky- talky set.

Cong demands removal of SP

In wake of a controversy in the police executive force that came to fore here on late Wednesday, Congress alleged that SP Anurag Kumar was working as an agent of BJP and demanded his removal making a complaint before Chief Election Officer, Bhopal on Thursday. According to District Congress Committee general secretary Lad Singh Chauhan, Ujjain district SP seems to be shielding BJP leaders as their agent. The recent instance of shielding BJP candidate from Ghattiya, Satish Malviya, who is an absconding warranty for six years and police did not arrest him while he filed nomination papers for contesting election. Malviya was booked under Section 353, 332, 294 and 506 of the IPC in Central Kotwali in 2007. Corporators Gabbar Bhati, Santosh adav and other leaders are openly roaming in the city under the protection of police. Congress in a complaint to Chief Election Officer demanded removal of SP.
