STF bares PMT- 2012 scam; 700 roll numbers ‘ adjusted’

Bhopal: The Special Task Force ( STF) of MP Police, looking into impostors’ racket of PMT 2013, exposed a similar fraud in last year’s pre- medical test being conducted by MP Professional Examination Board and the same gang of board’s officials, middlemen and racketeers were involved in it, said STF sources.

The STF sleuths have identified 700 candidates, whose roll numbers were adjusted to facilitate fraudulent admissions in medical colleges in PMT 2012. ” The STF scanned the data of PMT 2012 and found that similar modus operandi was used by the scamsters,” said STF officials. The STF was handed over the case from Rajendra Nagar, police of Indore.

Interrogation of board officials and kingpins of the two gangs – Dr Sanjeev Shilpakar and Dr Jagdish Sagar – have corroborated the story. The board officials including senior system analyst Nitin Mahidnra, system analyst Ajay Sen, computer programmer CK Mishra and examination controller Pankaj Trivedi had adjusted the roll numbers to allow students for copying in the PMT last year.

The STF sources said at present ten accused Vikas Singh, Tarang Sharma, Sudhir Rai, Sonu Pachori, Amit Nimawat and the board officials, Sagar and Shilpakar, had been booked for the fraud in last year’s PMT. List of candidates who appeared in last year’s PMT and those who got admissions have been sought from board and directorate of medical education.

The STF will book students as well who got admission in fraud manner, said the officials. At present, Pankaj Trivedi, Mahindra, Sen and Dr Shilpakar are on police remand. Besides, three accused Vijay Singh Lodhi, Sanjay Awasthi and Vijay Kumar Ram who were arrested in DPI typing fraud case, were sent on police remand till November 24.
