Virat Kohli always leads from the front. Be it his batting or stand on endorsement, Kohli is always stepped ahead. The Indian skipper has always focused on fitness and it won’t be wrong to say that many youngsters and aspiring athletes are inspired by him when it comes to being fit and active. And the proof is that Virat Kohli has yet again turned down a multi-crore offer to endorse a soft drink. And the only reason that is being indicated is Kohli does not consume aerated drinks.
Kohli is known to lead by example and not preach something he does not himself practice. He is well aware that he is a youth icon and he is closely followed not only by the media but the millions who profess him their hero. The skipper had decided not to renew his six-year contract with PepsiCo worth multiple crores again, earlier this year. He had said that he would only those products that he consume or can relate too.
Incidentally, Kohli is one of the fittest cricketers with a highly demanding fitness regime that would put even the biggest fitness enthusiasts to shame. Also, it’s the survival of the fittest, especially when it comes to making it to Indian squad. Lately, fitness had been the priority and top criteria for the selectors to pick up a player, which shows that it is necessary to be in shape and fitness can’t be taken lightly.
Kohli doesn’t compromise when it comes to training hard and he believes in maintaining the best possible physical and mental shape when competing at the highest level, to set the example for his teammates. Just before the Indian team left for Sri Lanka for a bilateral series, the entire unit went through a ‘Yo-Yo’ endurance test and according to reports, Kohli scored around 21 in the test while the acceptable ‘Yo-Yo’ score is 19.5 and upwards.
And with this recent move, he just won millions of hearts. Again.
