Melbourne : 14-time grand slam champion Rafael Nadal breezed past his South African opponent Kevin Anderson to stroll into the Australian Open quarter-finals in Melbourne. The Spaniard saved six set points in the first set to secure a 7-5 6-1 6-4 victory over Anderson and will now clash against Tomas Berdych to book a semi-final berth. On the other hand, in the Women’s singles, Russian second seeded Maria Sharapova cruised into the next round with a convincing 6-3, 6-0 straight sets victory over her Chinese opponent Shuai Peng to set up a quarterfinal clash with Eugenie Bouchard.
