MLWB clinch team title Aditi, Sanjana stretched

Mumbai : MLWB KKB overcame PJ Hindu Gymkhana to clinch men’s team championship title, in the Li Ning 4 Star All Mumbai Table Tennis Tournament, at the NSCI, Worli, on Monday. Top seeds Maharashtra Labour Welfare Board KKB lived up to their reputation with a 3-0 victory with Paresh Murekar, Saurabh Mohite and Mustafa Manager snatching impressive wins.

While Murekar beat Tanmay Rane in straight games in a close opener, Mohite recovered from a 1-2 deficit to overcome Parthav Kelkar 10-12, 11-8, 11-4, 8-11, 11-3 in a thriller before Manager tamed Hardik Panchal 3-1 to seal victory.

Junior girls’ third seed Sanjana Choudhary and fourth seed Aditi Sinha were stretched before advancing to the semi-finals where they were joined by top seed Ashlesha Trehan and second seed Dyuti Patki.In junior boys second round action, fancied Jash Jobalia was also stretched before snatching a hard-fought 11-6, 13-11, 13-11 win over Parth Shah.
