It was the same old story at the second day of the third Test at Pallekele. India again amassing over 450 runs on the board and quite predictably Sri Lanka getting out cheaply in the first innings. India started the second day at 329/6 and then lost Wriddhiman Saha early and then came the fireworks from Hardik Pandya, who scored his maiden Test century and blasted seven sixes in his knock of 108 off 96 balls and was the last man out.
SL were again dreadful with the bat and lost wickets at regular intervals. For India, youngster Kuldeep Yadav picked up 4/40 and helped India bundle out SL for a meager 135 runs. India didn’t hesitate to enforce the follow-on and picked up one wicket before the close of play. The third day could be the last day of the Test series and India are on their way to achieve a rare whitewash overseas.
