IPL 2017, KKR VS KXIP Match 11 Updates: KXIP 170/9 (20/20 ov), KKR 171/2 (16.3/20 ov)

FOLLOW US:

KKR have a clear advantage over KXIP. The two teams have faced each other 19 times in IPL and KKR have won 13 of them. In fact, KKR have won the last seven matches against KXIP. At the Eden Gardens, KKR have won six out of the eight matches between these two teams.

Kings XI are sitting comfortably at the top of the IPL 10 table after Sunrisers Hyderabad slumped to a 4-wicket defeat against Mumbai Indians on Wednesday. KKR is currently in the fifth position with two points. A huge turnout is expected as this will be KKR’s first home match of the season. The two-time champions will still be hurting from their narrow defeat to the Mumbai Indians on Saturday night after setting a target of 179. The host needed an improbable 64 from the final five overs, yet got past and finished line with one ball to spare.

18.6

Boult to MM Sharma, 4 runs, back of a length outside off, gives him the charge and lifts him over mid-off on the up….it’s a direct hit from the deep at the striker’s end. Deflection through for an overthrow. And then the person backing up throws at the non-strikers. No one is backing up. It’s another overthrow. This might be the last time we see Boult play cricket.

18.5

Boult to Aaron, 1 run, back of a length at off stump, hurries back into the crease and drops it into the off side

hat-trick ball

UT Yadav to Saha, OUT, full at off stump, Saha wants to lift this over mid-off with a full face. But once again, Umesh’s pace and slight tail in affects the timing. He chips straight to mid-off and that’s cleanly taken

WP Saha c Woakes b UT Yadav 25 (17b 2×4 2×6) SR: 147.05

Woakes dives forward at mid-off, takes a catch and signals it’s out. Umpires in conversation now. It’s been sent upstairs…it hasn’t, in fact. He’s out.

17.3

UT Yadav to Miller, OUT, misses another yorker, this is a full toss too. Too fast for Miller to slog this over the midwicket boundary. Gets it high on that bat and slices it out into the leg side where Pandey runs in from the midwicket boundary and slides forward with the momentum after pouching it low. The third umpire was called on to check for height there, but it was safely below waist

DA Miller c Pandey b UT Yadav 28 (19b 2×4 2×6) SR: 147.36

16.6

Boult to Saha, FOUR, oh dear, someone set up a hospitality package for Boult. Yet another misfield. He bounces him outside off stump again. This time Saha gets bat on his upper cut. It’s not a lot of bat. Loops and lands in front of Narine at third man. He is not anticipating the bounce on this as it’s about to hit the floor. Lazily puts his hands up while offering a lazy jump and it goes over him

3.6

Woakes to Vohra, FOUR, airs another one to third man. This one is intentional. It’s a short ball in the corridor, he arches backwards and ramps it towards the third man boundary. Hasn’t got all of it, but the fielder is safely wide and it’s a four on the bounce
