Team India played Essex in a three-day match from Wednesday to Friday as a practice game before the start of the grilling five-match Test series against England, which is starting from August 1. On the final day of the warm-up match skipper Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan were seen in a jovial mood. The duo entertained their fans with an impromptu dance while entering the field. The team were welcomed onto the ground by playing dhol and the duo couldn’t help but to break into a bit of ‘bhagra’.

Talking about the match, India failed to dismiss Essex in the first innings as the encounter ended in a draw after a significant rain delay. Essex declared their innings on 359/8 after Paul Walter scored 75 to India at bay. The rain came with KL Rahul 36 not out and Rahane 19 not out after Shikhar Dhawan was dismissed for 0 and Pujara was caught behind for 23. The game ended rather abruptly, thanks to the first spell of rain in Chelmsford in two months. India will now head towards Birmingham for the 1st Test. The batting of Dhawan and Pujara remains a concern.
