New Zealand has bowled out for 299 in the final session as R Ashwin finished with a six-wicket haul. It’s a brilliant performance once again from the crafty spinner. Jimmy Naeesham offered resistance but was undone on 71.
Off-spinner solely responsible to reduce New Zealand 216-6 by tea on the third day of the final test. India leads 266 runs ahead but decided not to enforce the follow-on.
In their first innings India declared 557-5 in the third test at the Holkar stadium.
Already on backfoot after loosing the series 0-2, Kiwis got off to a good start with openers Martin Guptill (72) and Tom Latham (52), middle order James Nasheem (71). Four wickets from R Ashwin in a guileful spell either side of lunch dismantled New Zealand‘s top order after Martin Guptill and Tom Latham had given them a strong start in response to India’s mountainous first-innings total. Martin Guptill and Tom Latham added 118 for the first wicket.
The day three ends with India leading by 276 runs against Kiwi, opener Gautam Gambhir damaged his right-shoulder while fielding.
