With Sachin Tendulkar’s biopic, ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’ releasing in theatres last week, it has allowed many of his teammates from then and the current Indian team members to take a brief look at the life of the living legend. Many cricketers have applauded the movie and what it brings out in open. Another name brought out an emotional angle with Tendulkar and it is possibly one of the earliest names associated with the Master Blaster, Vinod Kambli.
Kambli, clearly reliving their journey and happy days as youngsters playing cricket in school, Kambli shared an age-old picture of the duo in which Sachin is seen grabbing the neck of the southpaw from behind. Kambli’s post read: “@sachin_rt .Dear Master Blaster.I Love You”. It can be said that Kambli was reminded of the times when he shared the dressing room with Sachin through the Master Blater’s biopic — Sachin : A Billion Dreams.

It will be interesting to see if Sachin takes note of this and replies to Kambli’s emotional message.
The duo had put together world record of 664-runs in school while playing for Shardashram Vidyamandir against St Xavier’s High School, Fort in Harris Shield semi-final at Azad Maidan. In one stand Sachin had scored 326 while Vinod Kambli made 349, both unbeaten. Their heroics were brought to the silver screen in the biopic. It further highlighted the plight of the bowlers who were smacked to all parks of the iconic Maidan in, then, Bombay.
Sachin’s biopic hit the silver screens on the Friday and the movie showcases Sachin’s struggle from a young boy from Mumbai to the legend that he became afterwards.
